Dakota Fanning turned heads at the Los Angeles premiere of “Ripley” on Wednesday, April 3rd.
Actress Channels Elegance in Flowing Dress
Dakota Fanning, looking ethereal, graced the red carpet for the Los Angeles premiere of “Ripley” on Wednesday. The 30-year-old actress stole the show in a delicate white gown by Fendi. The dress, a showstopper from the label’s spring/summer couture collection, featured a unique design. An invisible bodice provided structure underneath a one-shoulder silhouette that flowed into cascading tiers of fabric. The pleats added a touch of whimsy as they moved with Fanning’s every step.
Minimalist Beauty Completes the Look
Fanning, styled by Samantha McMillen, allowed the dress to be the centerpiece of her look. She opted for minimal jewelry, letting the gown’s intricate details take center stage. Her makeup was soft and glamorous, with rosy cheeks complementing her bright blonde hair, worn straight and parted down the middle.
“Ripley”: A New Take on a Classic Story
“Ripley” is a remake of the 1999 film “The Talented Mr. Ripley,” which starred Matt Damon, Jude Law, and Gwyneth Paltrow. This 2024 iteration takes the form of a series. Andrew Scott portrays Tom Ripley, a small-time con artist tasked with convincing a wealthy man’s heir to return home from Italy. Fanning steps into the role of Marge Sherwood, originally played by Paltrow, the girlfriend of the heir, Dickie Greenleaf (now played by Johnny Flynn).
Fanning Praises On-Screen Chemistry with Scott
During the premiere, Fanning spoke to ET about her experience working with Scott. The 47-year-old actor portrays a complex character, but according to Fanning, their real-life friendship made working together a joy. “We’re incredibly fortunate to be friends off-screen,” she shared, “and that translated on set. We have a similar approach to acting, and I couldn’t have asked for a better partner. Thankfully, he’s nothing like his character in real life!”
Fanning Embraces White for “Ripley” Press Appearances
Even before the premiere, Fanning incorporated white into her wardrobe for several press events promoting “Ripley” in New York City. On March 26th, she exuded elegance in a silky wrap dress paired with metallic sandals.
